Bill Minor, born the oldest of five children in Sun Valley, Idaho, spent most of his time growing up outdoors and working at a cattle ranch across the road from the family home.
He worked farm and ranch hand jobs until developing a reputation as a top ski racer. This enabled him "to stay up at the ski hill" and away from the potato fields and barnyards as he became the man to beat for many years on the slopes gaining sponsorships by top ski companies and becoming the 1974 World Mogul Champion as a member of Rossignol Ski Team.
Between ski seasons during the mid 60's to mid 70's, he and his friends would run the spring runoff in their kayaks roaring down the Salmon, Snake and other whitewater rivers. He would often ride horseback for months at a time in the Idaho Primitive Area hunting big game and sightseeing.
In 1978 he moved to Hawaii for six years spending much of his time surfing and for four years served as the Harbormaster on the Island of Lanai.
Bill now lives in San Antonio and loves the great state of Texas, owning and operating his Guiding and Outfitting business with over 20 years experience running Tide Guide and continuing his lifelong passion for an outdoor lifestyle.
